Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • I have paid the Article Processing Charge (ACP) and filled out the Registration Form.

Author Guidelines

Before submitting articles to Journal of Teaching English (JTE), please observe the following:

  1. JTE accepts articles in the field of language education (including, but not limited to English language teaching) and educational technology (use of technology for the purpose of language teaching and learning), which have never been published in, or submitted to, other journals.
  2. Manuscripts should be typed in MS Word doc. format, using 12 size Book Antiqua fonts, single-spaced and A4-size paper.
  3. Manuscript should be within a range of 5000 – 7500 words.
  4. LEVEL ONE HEADINGS SHOULD APPEAR IN UPPER CASE AND BOLD (see template).
  5. Level two heading should appear in bold (lowercase, bold, left).
  6. Level three headings should appear in bold, lowercase and italic.
  7. Discussion paper comprises the following components: (a) (a) Title; (b) Full name of author(s) without title(s); (c) Abstract (max. 200 words); (d) Keywords; (e) Introduction without heading; (f) Body text; and (g) References.
  8. Research-based paper comprises (a) Title; (b) Full name of author (s) without title(s); (c) Abstract (max. 250 words); (d) Keywords; (e) Introduction with numbered headings, (f) Literature Review; (g) Method; (h) Findings and Discussion; (i) Conclusions and Recommendations; (i) References; and (j) Appendix, if any.
  9. Referencing style to be used is APA Style (7th). Authors are to make use of referencing manager such as Mendeley, EndNote, etc.
  10. Table/graph/figure should be numbered sequentially (i.e.if you have more than one table in your writing) e.g. Table 1, Table  2 ... followed immediately by title of the table/graph/figure.
