Abstract

This research is aimed at investigating the effect of the discussion method in online learning on student’s reading comprehension at Vocational High School 1 Wangi-Wangi. This research used a pre-experimental design that only involves one class as the experimental class. The population consisted of all the students in XI grade of Vocational High School 1 Wangi-Wangi. The researcher determines the sample using the purposive sampling technique. The total sample was 18 students in X1 Teknik Komputer dan Jaringan class. To collect the data, the researcher gave a pre-test, taught using a discussion method, and gave a post-test. The result shows that there are differences in the pre-test and post-test scores in the experimental class before and after being given treatment. Therefore, there is a significant effect of the Discussion Method in online learning on student’s reading comprehension at Vocational High School 1 Wangi-Wangi.
