Abstract

NGLIS TEACHERS STRATEGIES TEACHING READING COMPREHENSION AT SMPN 1 WATOPUTE

The purpose of this research is to find out the teacher's strategy in teaching reading comprehension at SMPN 1 Watopute, and how it implements the strategy in teaching reading comprehension in grades 7 and 8 at SMPN 1 Watopute This research method is qualitative research. The subject of this research is an English teacher at SMPN 1 Watopute. The research instruments were observation and interviews. The results of the study found two strategies used by the teacher, scaffolding and reciprocal teaching, and the teacher can also learn about students who receive assignments given and students who are guided to focus more on the text and what is contained in the text.
